Having been involved on the front line of sports ministry for over fifteen years AIS have had the opportunity to see first hand a wide variety of methods and models of work. These have now been condensed into a training programme called TREC
At the heart of TREC is our desire to train, envision and enable people from around the world. To engage the football culture in effectively transforming their communities. Who better to shape a community, than the very people who live there?
The programme has proved itself to be valuable on many different cultural settings, breaking down the barriers of race, education, gender, class and language and making the TREC course accessible to all. It gives those wanting to serve their football community an invaluable insight into what could be achieved, and the opportunity to hone skills with the help of the qualified coaches.
There are three levels of TREC:

Each enables coaches / leaders to have a personal development plan in sports ministry. Each of these levels is made up of four modules, which include:
Practical Coaching — learning essential coaching principles and knowledge of the game by FA qualified coaches.
Biblical Basis — understanding what the bible says about sports ministry. How to be a leader, how to apply biblical teaching in a sporting context, etc.
Models of ministry — exploring the variety of ways and creative methods football can be used to meet people, establish new contacts and share our faith.
Vision — taking what has been learned with an Action Plan that can be applied by each delegate as they return to their churches and communities.
To complete and ground each TREC course, the delegates must participate in a day of practical ministry set up with teams, youth groups and clubs from the location of the course.
